Last class you worked in teams identifying rhetorical/stylistic/literary devices as they occurred in the four essays we have looked at so far. You posted your findings for the whole group and took your own photo-notes.
Prior to next class you can prepare by doing the following:
- Review the terminology notes in the links posted below as well as your own class notes (mentioned above).
- Ask yourself, "What is the effect of this device as it is used here? How does it help meet the aims of this essay/author?"
- Review your How Best to Use Quotations notes, refer back to your own writing. Are you setting up for and embedding yours? Bring any questions you have to next class.
- Review formatting for paragraph responses:T.A.G, P.E.E.c, and literary present tense.
