Updated timeline. (let me know of any issues asap please.

April 26th:      Books must be complete by May 13th
·       Reading-log homework check 
     Mapping of your intro. due(share out and then hand in)
·      Meet with someone or two who is reading a book that is very different in idea/attitude/area of focus. (Discuss provided questions)
·      Complete # 1-4 in class based on discussion/reading (due  together with 5-7 next block)
    Get hand out re: ULC book recommendation.
·      

Non-Fiction Differentiated Book Study questions:
Due: # 1-4 April 26 (in -class)

1.     What is the book title, topic and who is its author?
2.     What prompted you to choose this book?
3.     How is the book constructed or what is the layout/formatting?
4.      What is the diction? Provide examples and discuss the effect of the diction.
  Due:  #5-7 May 1(Quiz)

5.      Who is the audience and how do we know?
6.     What is/are the purpose/s of this text? What makes you say so?

7.     How do you personally connect to the book, the author, the content and the themes?

·      Homework: (longer weekend) Complete Questions 1-7 Due May1. Read 30-50+ pages.Take note of emerging themes/life lessons.

May 1:
·      Submit questions 1-7
·      Fill in class chart re: core theme/s from your book
·      Discuss the big ideas/round table
·      Bring linking acquisition idea draft for ULC (bring ideas and argument for it for next class.)HMWK
·      Read
·      Books must be complete by May 13th

May 3:
·      Review key concepts/themes from your book.
·      What question/s arise from your reading?
·      How do you personally connect to it or how does it connect to the  larger society?


May 9th:
·      Small group share your acquisition idea/rationale (discuss merits/demerits of acquisition. Team may add suggestions.)

·      Write a short paragraph re: what it is and why Or if your discussion changed your mind how has it done so?
·      Intro. Pecha Kucha (test weight)
o   ULC for research May 13 and 15th
o   Bring your own devices 13th- May 31st.
o   ULC recommendation due May 13th
o   Topic due by May 15h

May 13:
·      ULC Pecha Kucha research/talk
·      Sign up your acquisition choice  
May 15:
·      Sign up your Pecha Kucha topic
·      Work period in ULC
·      Long weekend return with a draft of your Pecha Kucha
May 21 and May 23:
·      Homework check draft    
·      Rehearse Pecha Kucha/modify
·      Peer edit/eval. Re: rubric
·      Sign up for order/date
May 27,29,31:
·      Pecha Kucha presentations


June is for overt provincial exam prep. (poetry/devices/formatting review/hacks/ synthesis and original comp. practice)
·      Grad assembly June 4 at 2:00
·      Grad June 5th (no classes for you that day watch your timing/details)
·      Provincial Exam June 24th 9:00 - 12:00 Info. on where to go for your exam
